LEAP Lander is a novel amphibious landing vessel designed to rapidly move wheeled equipment from any ship to any shoreline — in the sea states and weather that stop conventional landing craft.

It's not just the beach. It's what's parked offshore.

Even when sea state and beach gradient cooperate, today's landing craft can't get to shore on their own. LCACs and LCU/LCMs have to load from a well deck — and that requirement creates a second, bigger problem than the landing itself.

Well deck bottleneck

Well-deck ships are scarce: a Wasp-class LHD carries only 3 LCACs, a San Antonio-class LPD carries 2, and the Navy's newest assault ship class, the America-class LHA, was originally built with no well deck at all. The connector fleet can't grow past the ships that carry it.

Forced into range

LCU/LCM transit speed is slow, so the well-deck ship has to stage close to the landing site to keep offload times workable — putting a scarce, high-value ship inside the range of the threat it's trying to avoid. In a contested environment, that ship is targeted first, and the landing never happens.

LEAP Lander changes the equation

LEAP Lander unloads from any vessel — no well deck required — in any weather, far offshore, in sea states up to Sea State 5. It then transits to the landing site at 45+ knots, through that same Sea State 5 and large breaking surf, without the mother ship ever closing the distance.

LEAP Lander is a concept-stage amphibious vessel purpose-built to close this gap. The patented architecture is scalable by size rather than redesign, so the same core mechanism serves vehicle classes from SOF-scale to Abrams-scale. Detailed performance figures are being finalized and will be shared under NDA during technical briefings.
